Ray Henderson, 72, of Brandon, MS, passed away at home on November 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. Ray was born in Vicksburg on June 1, 1944, and was married to Kathy Parkman Henderson of Flora for over 48 years. Ray had 2 children, Anne Marie and Evan, and 2 grandsons, Hunter and Braden. During the 1980’s, Ray was a volunteer fire fighter with the Reservoir Fire Department. Concurrently with his volunteer work, Ray was the fleet manager for Van-Trow Oldsmobile, where he treasured his relationships with his customers and employers. Many of his customers...

Ray Henderson, 72, of Brandon, MS, passed away at home on November 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. Ray was born in Vicksburg on June 1, 1944, and was married to Kathy Parkman Henderson of Flora for over 48 years. Ray had 2 children, Anne Marie and Evan, and 2 grandsons, Hunter and Braden. During the 1980’s, Ray was a volunteer fire fighter with the Reservoir Fire Department. Concurrently with his volunteer work, Ray was the fleet manager for Van-Trow Oldsmobile, where he treasured his relationships with his customers and employers. Many of his customers became lifelong friends to Ray. Later, Ray became a deputy with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, where he enjoyed spending his time. He was always proud of his service with the Sheriff’s Department. After his retirement, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons. Ray is survived by his wife, Kathy, and his son, Evan (Tiffiney), along with his grandsons, Hunter and Braden. Ray was predeceased by his daughter, Anne Marie; his mother, Marie Evans Overby; and his father, Vernon Vertis Overby. To honor Ray’s wishes, there will not be a funeral, visitation, or memorial service.
